In partnership with the University of Newcastle (UON)
Expressions of Interest are now open for the DeadlyScience STEM Pathways Program at the University of Newcastle, offering fully funded, immersive STEM experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.
Schools are invited to register their interest in the November 2026 pilot program, upcoming 2027 programs, or both.
The program brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, contemporary science, university experiences and inspiring STEM professionals to help young people discover where their curiosity, interests and strengths could take them.

CULTURE, CURIOSITY AND OPPORTUNITY
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have always been scientists, engineers, innovators and knowledge holders.
The DeadlyScience Pathways Program builds on these strengths, connecting culture and curiosity with contemporary STEM experiences and future opportunities.
Whether students are already passionate about science or haven’t yet considered a STEM career, the program aims to ignite their curiosity, expand their possibilities and help them recognise that they belong in STEM.

All DeadlyScience UON Pathways programs are fully funded, including the November 2026 pilot and programs delivered in 2027 onwards.
There is no program participation fee for successful schools or students. Transport, catering and other relevant participation arrangements will be coordinated with schools to support equitable access.
