Our Purpose
Igniting curiosity.
Celebrating culture.
Creating opportunity through STEM.
DeadlyScience exists to create STEM equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.
We are building a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners can see themselves in STEM and thrive. Because you can’t be what you can’t see.
By recognising and valuing First Nations knowledge, we are elevating it in the eyes of all Australians - decolonising STEM and creating systemic change.
At its heart, DeadlyScience exists to ignite a passion for STEM and advance equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners. This is our core purpose, the belief that fuels every action we take, and the foundation of our vision: a future where First Nations science is recognised and valued, and where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners have equitable participation in STEM fields.
We tackle the underrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in STEM by providing culturally relevant programs, hands-on resources, and mentorship opportunities to remote and regional education providers across Australia. By connecting young people with First Nations STEM role models and fostering a culturally inclusive learning ecosystem, we bridge gaps in access and opportunity.
Our guiding ambition is clear: to ignite a passion for STEM and create a future where all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners can thrive, because “You can’t be what you can’t see”.
Our Programs
From on-site, hands-on STEM learning to virtual sessions, kits, and recognition programs, our initiatives engage learners, teachers, and communities in meaningful STEM learning.
DeadlyScience prioritises education providers with limited STEM access, high Indigenous enrolments, or low socio-educational advantage, with a simple Expression of Interest process to apply.
