Expressions of Interest are now open for the 2026 WEHI DeadlyScience Pathways Program — a fully funded, immersive STEM experience for First Nations learners in Years 9–10.
PROGRAM DETAILS
- 4th – 6th August, 2026
- Hosted at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI), Melbourne
- Open to First Nations learners in Years 9–10
- Schools must provide supervising staff
- Full attendance across all program days is required
This unique three-day program gives learners the opportunity to step inside a world-leading medical research institute and explore what a future in STEM could look like.
WHAT LEARNERS WILL EXPERIENCE
- Meet and learn from world-leading scientists
- Explore real-world medical research and big scientific questions
- Gain hands-on experience with laboratory equipment
- Discover STEM study and career pathways
- Visit a university campus and learn about student life
- Build connections with peers from across Australia

All travel, accommodation and meals are covered for successful schools — ensuring equitable access for learners, including those from regional and remote communities.
