Deadly Resource Development & Distribution
The Deadly Resource Development & Distribution program creates and delivers high-quality, culturally relevant STEM resources to schools and educators across Australia.
For many schools and education providers in regional, remote and very remote communities, access to basic learning materials is not guaranteed. Geographic isolation creates logistical challenges that make delivering resources slower, more complex and significantly more expensive. Some communities even rely on barges for the final stage of delivery.
As a result, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners can miss out on essential STEM tools, from textbooks and hands-on experiment kits to microscopes and weather stations.
We exist to change that.
Breaking Down Barriers to Access
Supporting educators with culturally relevant resources is a well-documented way to increase learner participation and achievement in STEM. When educators are equipped with the right tools, they can create engaging, meaningful learning experiences that inspire confidence and curiosity.
Through Deadly Resource Development & Distribution, we:
- Provide culturally responsive STEM textbooks and classroom materials
- Deliver essential STEM equipment to under-resourced schools
- Support educators with tools that reflect and respect Indigenous knowledge systems
- Navigate complex logistics to reach regional, remote and very remote communities
- Ensure schools and education providers that meet our support criteria receive the resources they need most
Learner engagement in STEM is not just a school issue. It’s a shared responsibility. By improving access to expertise and resources, DeadlyScience is helping create more equitable pathways into science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Our Programs
From on-site, hands-on STEM learning to virtual sessions, kits, and recognition programs, our initiatives engage learners, teachers, and communities in meaningful STEM learning.
DeadlyScience prioritises education providers with limited STEM access, high Indigenous enrolments, or low socio-educational advantage, with a simple Expression of Interest process to apply.
