DeadlyScience is all about relationships, which is why we are excited to have support from Salesforce.

DeadlyScience has received a wonderful grant from Salesforce of $100,000USD ($135,000AUD) to help increase STEM engagement in schools. The grant will help DeadlyScience engage, educate and facilitate science-based careers in a two-way learning process.

DeadlyScience, with Salesforce, will accelerate the pace of social change, to solve tough problems like the lack of access that Indigenous students and communities have to STEM professionals and activities. With the grant from Salesforce, DeadlyScience will be able to build our DeadlyScienceClub, a unique approach to STEM engagement giving student and their communities ownership over their STEM education.

Another program, DeadlyLearners will be supported by the grant. DeadlyLearners is designed to address the issue in Indigenous communities of you cannot be what you cannot see. Each DeadlyLearners session introduces students in their communities to STEM professionals, who they are, what they do and how they got there. This activity not only excites students about different topics that they are interested in, but shows the pathways and opportunities to get there themselves.

DeadlyScience is inspiring and empowering students to take their knowledge further towards careers and opportunities in STEM with the help this generous grant from Salesforce. One way to address the issue of under-resourcing in Indigenous schools and communities is to provide those much needed resources. Not only that, but connecting young Indigenous people with mentors to encourage their participation in STEM. That is what the Salesforce grant will help us achieve.

Salesforce has given this opportunity to DeadlyScience as a way to engage people in the importance of our vision: to inspire, connect, innovate and discover through providing STEM resources, mentoring and expertise to remote schools in Australia. Importantly, this opportunity will go beyond the software. Salesforce will take the charity to new levels of efficiency — and therefore impact for our young DeadlyScientists — with their software.

Science is Deadly! It is how we make sense of the world. As a nation, and at DeadlyScience we have a cultural responsibility to our first & future scientists.
