DeadlyScience pays respect to the Traditional Custodians of the land, to all Elders past and present, and to First Nations people everywhere. First Nations people have used science for over 65,000 years. Our culture is the oldest in the world. The first scientists passed on the lessons of the land, sea and sky, to the future scientists of today through stories, song and dance. We call this caring for Country. If you care for Country, the Country will care for you.

DeadlyScience is proud to open our next grant round to coincide with NAIDOC Week.

To support activities in the classroom we are providing $200 grants and a craft pack to schools to host events in keeping with this year’s theme “For Our Elders”.

To register your interest in hosting a “For Our Elders” class party please fill out the form below. Applications close on Tuesday 20th June 2023. To be eligible schools must have more than 15% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled. This initiative has been proudly support by GHD Foundation.

Nationally, NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held from 2 – 9 July 2023.

The National NAIDOC Committee provides educational resources to obtain foundational knowledge about NAIDOC Week. The teaching ideas developed by the National NAIDOC Committee directly support teachers in addressing The Australian Curriculum: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Culture cross-curriculum priority.
